Director’s Biography

Hendrik Groenewald has more than a decade experience as an art dealer. After having completed his MA in Art History in Groningen, he gained work experience at the Groninger Museum and at the Rijksmuseum Print Room in Amsterdam. His career in art dealing started in the old masters department at Christie’s auction house in Amsterdam. He then moved on to the department of nineteenth century art of the same employer’s head office in London.

In 2012 Hendrik was appointed associate director at the art gallery Daxer and Marschall in Munich where he worked until 2020. During this period he rediscovered important works of art and achieved major sales to private collectors and international institutions world wide.

Hendrik founded Perspective in 2020. The company has successfully sold paintings and drawings to collectors and museums in Europe and the United States of America and continues to seek new opportunities and relationships.

Fifteen years experience of working at TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair) has contributed to the establishment of a large international network of clients interested in old masters and modern art.
