Director’s Biography

Hendrik Groenewald is an art dealer active in the international art market with more than fifteen years of professional experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Art History from the University of Groningen and received his early professional training at the Groninger Museum and the Rijksmuseum Print Room, Amsterdam.

He began his career at Christie’s auction house in Amsterdam and London, where he worked in the departments of Old Masters and nineteenth-century art. Between 2012 and 2020, he served as Associate Director at Daxer & Marschall, Munich, contributing to the rediscovery of significant works and the placement of paintings and drawings with private collectors and international public institutions. During this period, the gallery participated in TEFAF Maastricht and New York, as well as Frieze Masters, London.

In 2020, he founded Perspective, an art dealership based in Vienna and Amsterdam, specializing in the acquisition and placement of paintings and works on paper with private and institutional clients in Europe and the United States.
